Privacy policy

Effective November 2, 2026. This policy describes the public website at https://funstir.cfd/.

Who we are

funstir publishes the Claude field guide, a set of educational pages about qualitative marketing research for B2B purchases. For privacy questions about this website, funstir is the organization to contact. The postal address is 225 West Wacker Drive, Suite 1800, Chicago, IL 60606, United States. The telephone number is +1 (312) 555-0184. The email address is [email protected]. This policy does not describe a separate client research engagement. Notes from a commissioned study are governed by the agreement for that study, not by the newsletter form on these pages.

Information this site collects

If you join the field-note list, funstir receives the email address you submit and the time of the request. The form posts to a small endpoint that replies with a confirmation message. Do not send interview transcripts, customer names, or other confidential research material through that form. If you write to [email protected] or call or message the telephone number above, funstir receives whatever you choose to include in that message, along with the contact details your mail or phone provider attaches.

The site stores a consent preference in your browser under the local storage key cookie_notification. That value records whether you dismissed the notice. It stays on your device. funstir’s servers do not receive a profile built from it. Ordinary hosting logs may include your IP address, user agent, the page requested, and the time of the request. Those logs are used to keep the site available and to diagnose faults. funstir does not ask you to create an account, and the pages do not include a general contact form that collects a name, a message, and a file.

How information is used

The email address is used to send occasional notes when a new Claude chapter is published, and to reply if you ask to leave the list. Messages you send directly are used to answer you. Server logs are used for security and operations. funstir does not use this site to score your company, to append you to a data broker file, or to build a lookalike audience. funstir does not sell personal information, and funstir does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Sharing

funstir may use an email or hosting provider that processes the address or the logs on documented instructions, only so the site and the list can function. Those providers are not permitted to use the address for their own marketing. funstir may disclose information if a valid legal process requires it, or to investigate abuse of the site. WhatsApp, if you use the footer button, is a third party with its own terms.

Retention

A newsletter address is kept until you ask to be removed, or until funstir stops sending notes and deletes the list. Direct correspondence is kept long enough to resolve the thread and to meet ordinary record needs, then deleted or reduced. Hosting logs are kept for a short operational window, typically not longer than a few months, unless a security incident requires a longer hold. Local storage remains until you clear it in your browser. You can read the mechanics of the banner in the cookie policy.

Security

funstir uses reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to a public content site: access limited to the people who operate the list, transport encryption where the host provides it, and no intentional collection of payment card numbers. No method of transmission or storage is perfect. Do not send sensitive research through the public form.

United States privacy choices

Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and other states with consumer privacy statutes, you may have rights to know, access, correct, or delete personal information funstir holds about you, and to appeal a denial. You may also have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. funstir does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so those opt-outs have no separate data flow to switch off. funstir will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy request” and enough detail for funstir to find the record, usually the email address you used. funstir may need to confirm that you control that address. An authorized agent may submit a request with proof of authority. funstir aims to respond within 45 days, and will say so if a statute allows a longer period.

Children

The field guide is written for working adults. funstir does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted an address, write to [email protected] and funstir will delete it.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a material way, funstir will update the effective date on this page. Continued use of the site after the date changes is a chance to read the new text, not a waiver of statutory rights you cannot waive. Questions go to [email protected], to +1 (312) 555-0184, or by post to funstir, 225 West Wacker Drive, Suite 1800, Chicago, IL 60606, United States. The terms that govern use of the pages are in the terms of use.
